About RIXC

RIXC is the center for new media culture, art gallery and artist collective, that initiates projects in intersection of art, science and emerging technologies. RIXC's activities include: running an art gallery, production of artworks and innovative art, science and technology projects, organising of the annual RIXC Art Science festival, exhibitions, publishing of Acoustic Space journal series.

The RIXC Art-Science Residency supports artists and artists-researchers, who work on the edges of art, science and digital technologies. The residency is located in the very heart of Riga, providing access to digital laboratory for production, the gallery venue for public events and RIXC Fields residency near the city of Talsi with the greenhouse for artistic growing experiments and field research. RIXC runs multiple artist-in-residency (AiR) programs.

Benefits

Artists have free access to WiFi internet, mediatheque as well as a space to work in a shared laboratory, which is equipped with digital production (Mac computers with graphic, video and sound editing software) and digital fabrication facilities (3D printer). For educational programme, workshops and/or exhibitions, RIXC offer a gallery space (36 m2 at Lencu iela 2, city center). RIXC also offers its expertise and assistance for the artists during their residency.

Accommodation

For single artist and/or artist couples, we offer residency apartment consisting of a bedroom, bathroom and working/guest room together with a kitchenette.
