ABOUT Chroniques:
CHRONIQUES is a resource center for artistic creation in the digital environment, dedicated to supporting artists and artistic practices at the intersection of art, technology, and society. Based between Marseille and Aix-en-Provence, it has been developing for over twenty years a distinctive program that combines creation, production, dissemination, public engagement, and professional support.
Recognized internationally through its Biennale des Imaginaires Numériques, CHRONIQUES also acts as a year-round platform for exhibitions, talks, mediation programs, and training activities aimed at fostering critical perspectives on digital culture and contemporary technological transformations.
In 2024, CHRONIQUES was designated by the French Ministry of Culture as the Regional Center for Artistic Creation in the Digital Environment for the Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur region. In this context, it plays a central role in accompanying the production and circulation of original works, while strengthening networks of collaboration and mutual support around digital and hybrid arts.
ABOUT the residency AND ITS PRESENTATION at Chroniques:
The residency will be hosted in an artist studio within a cultural third place in Marseille, embedded in a recognized and dynamic creative ecosystem. Providing both workspace and accommodation, this setting is conceived as an environment for research, production, and exchange, offering the artist a daily working context closely connected to the local artistic and cultural scene. Through its strong regional, national, and international network, CHRONIQUES is able to connect the resident artist with a wide range of professionals, partners, and associated structures whose expertise can support the development and production of the project. Any specific needs in terms of facilities, technologies, or technical resources can be addressed in collaboration with CHRONIQUES’ partners and associates, according to the nature of the project.
The residency will conclude with an open lab presentation, conceived as a moment of encounter and exchange, to which members of this creative ecosystem will be invited, allowing the artist to share their research process, test ideas, and engage with professional and local audiences.
